Why Do Cats Knock Things Over?

My cat likes to knock everything that I have on my desk down and lay in bed. I don’t know why that is but, I have accepted my fate. However, one day I got curious and decided to look into it.

In this article, we will answer the question, "Why do cats knock things over?" to help you get inside the feline mind.

So, without further ado, let's begin!

It's Related to Hunting Instincts

Cats are born hunters and have awesome hunting skills--you see them coming into play when you watch them play with a laser. A cat thinks of every inanimate object as something that she can hunt. If it moves, your cat will enjoy chasing it.

That makes things even more exciting for your kitty.

No surprise that she's enticed by boring things on your desk, right?

She's doing it for attention

In some cases, your cat may be signaling to you that she wants to eat food or is hungry. Pawing at things is probably how your kitty gets your attention.

Cats may even do this when they're bored.

According to experts, you should feed your kitty on a schedule and provide her with a stimulating environment to prevent boredom.
