Cats are mysterious animals and have several behaviours that are beyond a human’s comprehension. They really are fascinating creatures!
My cat likes to walk between my legs, rub her face on anything and everything he finds. Even the refrigerator! So, I looked into why he was behaving so oddly, and I would like to share it with you.
We all know how dogs like to pee on anything and everything to mark it as their own. In fact, my dog once peed on the cat! That’s exactly why cats rub their face on everything they like---including you.
No because they’re itchy!
Cats have a more sophisticated way of marking their territory, and don’t pee on everything like maniacs---some tomcats do that if they aren’t neutered. Cats have glands on their faces that leave their scents on the surface of things.
These glands are present on their cheeks, sides, ears, and necks and activate when the kitty rubs her face against stuff.
Cats rub their faces on humans to show affection and love.
Don’t worry, you cat isn’t really objectifying you and thinking of you as property!
Cats rub their faces to scent their love ones with affection. This behavior of headbutting or bunting is used to seek comfort, affection, and is a bonding process.
Does your cat like to rub her face against you? Let me know how you feel in the comments section!
